Chelsy Harris, MS, LMHC (she/her)

Welcome! Whether you have experience with therapy, or this is your first time— seeking therapy is a brave step. I would be honored to join with you in your process of healing and growth, wherever you are in your journey. I use an integrative person-centered, strengths-based approach, emphasizing the importance of the client and therapist relationship in my work. I especially draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment theory and somatic theories, and take each individuals unique needs into account when choosing the approach that would best fit. I operate from a systemic lens that takes into account the relationship between ourselves, our families, cultures and environments and my work is informed by an anti-oppression, social justice framework. I believe in meeting people where they are at and working collaboratively toward growth and recovery. I’m passionate about working alongside people who are looking for positive change in their lives and empowering them to take steps towards healing. My goal is to develop a warm, caring and safe space that feels welcoming to my clients and allows deeper connection with themselves through increased self-awareness and self-compassion, exploring values and moving towards growth.

Education and Experience

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the State of Washington (LH 61272065) and I received my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Central Washington University. My experience includes working at a university counseling center with university students individually and in groups, working as a school social worker in a behaviorally focused classroom teaching social and coping skills groups and working in a program with adults and adolescents supporting both virtual and onsite partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care. My training has prepared me to help individuals on issues of depression, anxiety, trauma-related concerns, panic, relationship/attachment difficulties, life transitions, and identity exploration. I have received training in and have experience utilizing a variety of evidence-based treatments, including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).
